Following his high school education, Op. Dr. Emrah Akartuna successfully completed his education at the University of Innsbruck, Austrian Medical Faculty and received the title of medical doctor.
After graduating from university, he started working at the University Hospital Innsbruck.
He worked as a lecturer at the University Hospital Innsbruck.
He received his Neurosurgery Specialization Training at Innsburck University Hospital, Austria.
He worked for 11 years in various places in Austria. He worked at the Private Hochrum Hospital and Private Practice.
During his time in Austria, he worked with Prof. Dr. Herwig Kostron, Prof. Dr. Klaus Twerdy, Prof. Iradj Mouhsenipour (students of Prof. Dr. Gazi Yaşargil) for many years.
